Cover & Trailer Reveal – Mountains of the Moon by Connie J Jasperson

One of my most favourite authors, Connie J Jasperson, is about to launch another book in her epic fantasy World of Neveyah and Tower of Bones series. I love the world of Neveyah that she has created for both series; the detail is so exquisitely crafted and written, one could be forgiven for thinking it actually exists. I won’t say too much more about what I think of this book as it’ll spoil the review which I’ll be posting on the day the book launches.

Now, I have to say I think this cover is awesome. It’s so perfect for the book, it’s almost uncanny. So fanfare please……… put your hands together, scream and cheer for the cover of Mountains of the Moon:

MOTM Front Cover Final 6-18-2015

Isn’t that fantastic? I absolutely love it!

And now for the all-important blurb:

Charged by the goddess Aeos, Wynn and his companions bicker and bumble their way through the Mountains of the Moon. Danger, mystery, and dark prophecies chase them through a gauntlet of jagged peaks and deadly traps.

Can they survive the dark secret hidden in Tauron’s crumbling castle before his minotaurs overrun Neveyah?

The Gods are at war, and Neveyah is the battlefield.

Sounds intriguing, eh? Now check out the book trailer:

Pretty cool, wouldn’t you agree? I’ve been lucky enough to score an excerpt from Connie from this awesome book to share with you all, so here it is:

The two prisoners heard heavy footsteps approaching, sounds that seemed to echo down a long passageway and stopped outside the door. A tired sounding voice said, “Well, your lordship. Did you feed them and give them water?”

“Of course I did,” replied the baron, in a quavering tenor. “I live, Jenner, but only because I serve. I understand that well.”

“They’re awake then. Those two soldiers of Tauron roughed them up pretty bad. Should I call Grakken to heal them now?”

The old man’s tones were sardonic. “Yes, you should. Your tame minotaurs were far gentler on them than they’ve been on some of the others, which isn’t saying much. At least these two big fellows have enough slack in their chains to be able to feed themselves and piss in a bucket.” His tones were scathing.

“They’d better not have hurt them too badly. These two must be in good health for the ceremony tonight,” muttered the earth-mage. “Grakken is expecting a visit from High Priest Kandek today. The high priest will be pleased to have a real sacrifice to offer up on his new altar tonight instead of the usual miserable rabble.”

“I’m sure ‘the miserable rabble’ would have been glad to hear that if they’d survived your boss’s little frenzy the other day,” replied the old man. “Speaking of which, if we’re done here, I have to go and check on the one that does remain. I’m sure despite the ruckus of the other day, Grakken still has plans for her and wants to keep her alive even though he has these two fine specimens for tonight’s festivities, so….”

“Well, go about your duties then. I’m going to sit here just to keep those freaks from Serende from getting any ideas about using these two for sport. As soon as he’s awake, I’ll let Grakken know they’re here, through our link. He’ll be worried about their safety.”

“He should be worried about those soldiers, Jenner. They’re bored, and there’s nothing worse than a bored minotaur. Just so you’re aware, the woman likely won’t live through the day after their gentle courtship of her. You only have your minotaurs to blame for that. But it’s not my job to worry about the health of his sacrifices, especially since Grakken himself seems to be so careless with them.”

Well, if this doesn’t whet your appetite, I’ll be very surprised!

Cover Reveal & Launch – Denai Touch by Tiffany Shand

As you know, I enjoy promoting other authors’ work and especially those who are new to the big, bad world of publishing.

Today I’m thrilled to reveal the cover (and more) for Denai Touch, the debut novel by Tiffany Shand. Having read the story, I have to say the woman on the cover is so like the main character, Cate.

Anyway, drumroll and fanfare please… Ladeez and gentlemen, I give you Denai Touch:

Book Cover

Isn’t it gorgeous? Now what kind of host would I be if I didn’t give you a little something more? I could try holding you to ransom and make you wait, but I’m not feeling that wicked today, so here are the crucial words from the back cover of this Paranormal Romance:

Cate McCray is no ordinary witch.

Prophesised to be the one to destroy the Covenant, an age-old organisation who seeks to enslave all Magickind, the race is on for them to kill her before she attains immortality.

But before receiving the phenomenal power that comes with it, she must first survive the ascension and the only person who can help her is her elemental partner, Jason Talbot. But when the time comes, her forbidden love for Jason threatens to destroy them both.

As leader of Excalibar, an elite team of Enforcers, they work to infiltrate the Covenant leading Cate into life-threatening situations. Can she outwit them before it’s too late?

Doesn’t that sound spine-tinglingly good? And now, here is her book trailer:

Over the coming month, you’ll get to know more about Tiffany and Denai Touch as I’ll be hosting a few stops on her virtual book tour. It actually launched yesterday so click on the cover to go straight to Amazon and buy a copy!

Saying Goodbye to Characters

We have a rather late blog post today and all because of a Junk Folder. Why is it that people you are in regular contact with on email suddenly get swiped into the junk folder? It’s so flipping annoying (can you see I’m being good here and not swearing, even though I’m sorely tempted?). Still, at least it was caught in time and before midnight!

Today, I’ve been interviewed by the wonderful Sarah-Jane Bird (yes, she of the fantastic jewellery and book trailer!). I have to say, she threw a couple of hard questions my way about Heart Search: Betrayal, but I have to forgive her…for now at least. I’ll get my revenge when she releases her book. Ha ha ha! I digress. Click here to read the interview and consider following her blog, The Booklife – she has some great stuff on there!

Great Balls of Fire

I have to say, yesterday didn’t quite go as planned. One of the two scheduled posts went live, but the other one didn’t. I kept waiting and waiting, but by the time midnight rolled around, I was too shattered to check anymore and went to bed.

So today I’m combining two days in one post. What has she got in store for us I hear you ask. Lots including a competition, is my reply.

First there is an excerpt posted by the lovely Joy Keeney. Someone discovers they have a new gift and to say it’s explosive is an understatement. Click here to see what it is and who’s got it.

Secondly, we have an interview with my friend and fellow author at Myrddin Publishing, Rachel Tsoumbakos. She’s just released a new book called Unremembered Things, which I’m reading at the moment, so you’ll be seeing my review on this soon. It was fun to go ‘down under’ and visit Rachel again. Click here to read more.

Thirdly, my friend and the person who made virtually all the fantastically gorgeous items for my giveaway, Sarah-Jane Bird (Made by Birdies), and the amazing trailer for the book, posts her review of Heart Search: Betrayal. Click here to see if she loved it or hated it.

Here’s a reminder of that amazing trailer:

There might be a fourth post to add to the list, but I’m waiting for the time difference to catch up to find out. That’s the only problem when you have people in different time zones, however, I wouldn’t have it any other way, especially with those people who have been with me ever since Heart Search: Lost was first launched. I count everyone of those people my friends and am eternally grateful for all the help and support they’ve given me along the way.

Now for the competition. Just to see if you’ve been paying attention – who was the first person to give Heart Search: Betrayal a 5-star review during the blog tour. All the correct entrants names will be put into a randomizer and one person will receive a free eBook of Heart Search: Betrayal. Deadline for entries is midday GMT on 18th Feb.

Now don’t forget to enter the Giveaway if you haven’t done so already. Here’s the link in case you missed it before.

LAUNCH DAY EXCLUSIVE: Huw The Bard by Connie J Jasperson

Well, today’s the big day for the mega talented Connie as Huw The Bard, her latest book, officially launches.

On Friday, I revealed the cover and blurb, Saturday saw the book trailer, yesterday I gave you my review, and now I have an exclusive excerpt to share with you. So, drumroll please . . . no louder . . .That’s better *clears throat* . . . Ladeez and Gentlemen, for your delectation and enjoyment, I give you – Huw the Bard:

Excerpt from ‘HUW the BARD’ by Connie J. Jasperson, Copyright 2014 All Rights Reserved

“With Lackland helping as well as he could, Huw saddled Farroll while he drank; all the while Lackland warned the horse to be sure not to drink too much. Once watered, the unhappy horse desperately munched on grass while Huw began getting him laden with numerous heavy saddle bags and weaponry. “I know entire families who don’t travel with this much baggage,” muttered Huw, as he made a third trip with yet more of Lackland’s luggage. “No wonder you require a horse of this size!”

“Now, now, Jak! You sound like Chicken Mickey, clucking away at me like that,” replied Lackland cheerfully. “It’s all necessary, I promise!”

“Chicken Mickey?” Huw was at a loss. “I don’t believe I know this person.”

“Of course you don’t. The man is our provisioner, and he’s an absolute genius at it,” replied Lackland, lobbing the last saddlebag atop the horse. “You just reminded me of him. He’s always accusing me of overburdening Farroll with my luggage.”

“I see his point,” Huw said, struggling to hold the horse still while Lackland finished tightening the last straps. “I have no idea what a provisioner is, but he sounds interesting.”

“Interesting? Mick is definitely that!” His face lost its mirth as he considered the task of mounting his horse. His legs could barely hold him up, and he had to lean on Farroll just to stand. “I’ve no strength in my legs, and I doubt you could lift me to the saddle. I’ll have to walk as best I can.”

Nodding, Huw jumped nervously as pre-dawn sounds of birds alerted him to the danger they were in. He began to panic. “Lackland, we must get your horse moving! We must be away from here now!” He picked up his kit and looped his arm around the knight, half carrying him with Farroll supporting his other side. Then, at Huw’s urging, Lackland walked as swiftly as he was able. Farroll was not happy about having to walk when he wanted to eat. Huw grabbed the startled horse’s bridle and tugged, saying “Come, Farroll! They’ll have you back in the hellhole we just left if you don’t help me get your master out of here!” The occasional call of the birds spurred Huw as nothing else could have. The eastern horizon began to glow a fiery red, heralding the imminent advent of the dawn. “There’s the gate! Hurry!”

Almost running, Huw dragged Lackland and Farroll down the street and out of town as fast as he could. They stumbled to the opening just as the sun’s first ray pierced the sky, and with the light, the gates shuddered and began to close, creaking and groaning. Struggling desperately, Huw pulled the knight and his horse through. With a loud thunk, the gate swung closed behind them, catching the horse’s tail.

Farroll kicked at the gate, but although his tail was stuck fast, his hooves passed through the wood as if through fog. Skeletal hands began pulling the great beast backwards by the tail. He whinnied and his eyes were wild; Lackland struggled to keep him standing still. Quickly Huw raced back and, dodging Farroll’s stamping hooves, with a flick of his knife cut the tail free. He slapped Farroll’s rump and the horse shot forward, knocking Lackland down.

“Gah! They nearly had us!” Overcome with terror, Huw pulled Lackland to his feet. Grabbing Farroll’s harness, he dragged the two down the rutted overgrown road as fast as he could. He kept urging them on until they could no longer see the village.”

This is just a little taster of the adventures Huw experiences on his long journey. To buy this amazing book click on Amazon to be taken straight to the site relevant for your country. Well, don’t just sit there, CLICK ON THE LINK!!!!
