#BlogFlash2013 Day 12 – Music

Music plays a huge part in my life. I used to play various instruments as a kid and used to have a pretty good singing voice. As I danced from the age of five until last year, I had an appreciation of all different types of music, including ‘strict tempo’. I listen to my favourite bands, not only for enjoyment but also for inspiration when I’m writing.

Music makes me happy, it fills me with joy and is priceless. It lifts my spirit when I’m down.

For today’s prompt, I decided to look at music from a somewhat different angle. I hope you enjoy it.

She stepped onto the dance floor; the raunchy music blasted from the speakers and she began to gyrate. As the rhythm connected with her soul, she danced with wild abandon, not caring what anyone thought. Her eyes met his across the crowded floor and they moved toward each other.

His hands circled her waist, matching her moves easily. The beats got down and dirty and she closed her eyes as the music invaded her being, like an alien securing a host. He moved closer, grinding his hips into hers until the tune faded. Lifting her chin, he kissed her seductively.

  1. Beautifully written Carlie. Music has been my life too. Thanks for sharing. You wrote about dancing and recently I blogged about it too, but SO very differently to you. If you feel inclined pop over and read ‘Dancing Around Our Zimmer Frames,’ I think it will tickle you!
