Hi everyone,

Things in my writing life are moving up a gear or three, not only with the launch of Heart Search: Lost and book 2, Heart Search: Found with a provisional launch date of Spring 2013, but also with editing. It’s something I have a skill for and as such, my previous clients have been recommending me so I’m now in demand for editing services as well.

With all this in mind and the fact I want to be able to do alot more with the site, you are going to see some major changes over the next few days.

Firstly, I’m going to convert this blog to a website, which will be As I’m staying with WordPress, I’m reliably informed that all followers etc should automatically migrate to the new website. When the change has been completed, I will put out a test post to make sure you all get it. If you don’t get notification of a test post by the end of this week, then please refollow and I apologise in advance for any inconvenience this causes you.

You will also see a brand new layout.

I hope you’ll like the new additions as they are added to the site. If there is anything you’d particularly like to see, please let me know and I’ll try and accommodate it.

Thank you all for your ongoing support – it means a great deal to me.

  1. Congrats Carlie!! Sounds like you really busy. I’m in the process of changing my blog site and am thinking about buying the .com name for a website. Let me know how it works out for you. I may be following.

    • Hi Candy,
      Thanks for your good wishes.
I have to say, with WordPress, the process couldn’t have been easier! I changed the format first and got most of it how I wanted it, then purchased the domain and within a few minutes it was done and sorted. I didn’t have any down time at all. The other good thing is that anyone who uses the old blog address will automatically be diverted to the new site. I can’t praise WordPress enough for making the process so easy. You don’t even have to have a WordPress blog to buy one of their domains (and it’s a lot cheaper than most I’ve found) – all you do is point them to the URL of the blog and they will transfer it all over for you.
If you decide to go ahead, I wish you good luck with it and I hope you experience is as painless as mine has been!

    • Thank you so much, Donna. Your good wishes are really appreciated.
Is there any chance I can interest you in being involved with my blog tour for the launch of Heart Search? (See yesterday’s post for more info). I won’t be offended if you say no.

      • Sure I’d love to be involved. (I hate to sound ignorant, but I’ve never been involved with a blog tour, and don’t quite know what goes into it Carlie.) Is it to host an interview, post a review? I know you’re busy but a little info my way would go a long way to help me promote Heart Search the RIGHT way. Count me in though! :0)

        • Thanks Donna, that’s great. First off, I’ll send you a banner and Rafflecopter code to display on your blog to show you’re involved in the tour. I’m just waiting for one more thing to fall into place then I can release a list of dates for the tour. You can pick what you want to do from review, interview, excerpt, blog post and you post it on the date we agree. First we will need to start with the cover launch. This will involve posting the cover on your blog and just a few words saying about the new novel coming soon and the unveiling of the cover. The second stage will be having the book trailer on your site. Final stage is whatever you choose from the list of available items. You can do more than one if you wish.
I’ll need your email address as all images, banners etc will be sent to you by email. I also want confirmation of your blog URL to ensure I’ve got it right. However, I’m going to try and put a form on the site for people to fill in and submit – that way your info remains private.
Thanks so much for your support – I really appreciate it!

        • Carlie, I don’t think that I’ll be able to participate in your blog tour. I started poking around to learn about blog tours and found that sites will not allow javascript at all, i.e., banners and rafflecopter. Maybe I can help in a different way? :0(

  2. Hi Donna, all banners supplied will be simple jpeg type images with no javascript at all (just an image saying ‘heart search blog tour participant’ or similar). Thanks for letting me know about rafflecopter – I’ll have to look into that a bit more. Perhaps I’ll have to have a separate webpage hosting the rafflecopter and participating blogs will have a link to post to it. Anyway, I’ve now put up a form on the site under Heart Search Blog Tour. If you can complete the form and choose the activities you’d like to do, we can go from there. There’s a few to choose from which you can do!! Thanks again for your help and support
    Carlie xo
