History #BlogFlash2012

Hi. On #BlogFlash2012 Day 27 today’s prompt is History. I think it’s one of those subjecst you either love or hate, find fascinating or boring. Every day in our lives, something happens which will make its way into the history books of the future! Here’s my thoughts on the subject.

History

I enjoyed learning about history when I was at school and still make a point of checking historical facts occasionally for my writing.

To me, history is a wondrous thing. Everything which has happened in the past has helped to shape the world we live in today and strangely enough, this was brought home to me more so when watching the opening ceremony of the Olympic 2012 games, which in itself was history being made.

It’s incredible how the vision of certain people changed the world as it was and helped shape it into what we have today. I wonder who the next visionary person will be …

Sir Tim Berners-Lee – inventor of the World Wide Web

    • Hi Lesley, I’m not a lover of politics in history or current life, however it is interesting to see what changes have happened to the world due to the insight of certain individuals

  1. I love history too especially British history of Kings and Queens, civil war well everything really. it’s so rich, cruel, exciting and mooching around the castles is awesome. I learnt lots from the opening ceremony; I had no idea the inventor of the www was British. Woop, woop. Where would the world be without us inventing. And yes history in the making again with the ceremony. xx

    • Hi Lizzie, My daughter and I are both fascinated by the Tudor & Stuarts & we enjoy mooching around castles & stately homes. If you think about it, if it wasn’t for Tim Berners-Lee I wouldn’t be writing this now! I wonder if he realised how massively it would change the world when he first started? Finally, as London is the only city to have hosted the games 3 times it really was history in the making! xx
