Hi, today is Day 12 and the prompt is Celebration. I’m very lucky my daughter has given me much to celebrate over the years (has anyone sussed yet that she’s the best, most perfect thing in my life? Lol. Maybe it’s because I lost her twin during my pregnancy and I haven’t been able to carry a child since. I refer to her as my miracle baby). So as you might have guessed, I have to dedicate this post to her – it was the proudest moment in my life. I hope you enjoy it.
A hushed expectancy filled the huge auditorium.
Graduates filed in, gowns flowing, mortar boards in place, and took their places at the front, just prior to the Department Heads walking onto the stage.
The university chancellor made his grand entrance gave a boring speech before getting to the moment we all waited for – the presentation of the degrees.
Hearing my daughter’s name announced for Batchelor of Arts Honours Degree was the proudest moment of my life as the now poised, assured young woman walked across the stage to receive her certificate.
Many a champagne cork popped in celebration that night!

As usual, your post was interesting. Sorry I don’t comment more, but I do read and enjoy them. This one was especially sweet.
Hi,
Thanks for popping in and commenting. I’m glad you find my posts interesting. I think it’s important that my followers get to know the real me, what drives me, what I celebrate and what I mourn, and not just the me wearing my writer’s hat.
No need to apologise for not commenting more – I’m just very happy that you take the time to read my posts and enjoy them – so thank you very much!!
I look forward to your next comment, whenever that may be 😀
Watching your children grow up is amazing, suddenly they flower into the most wonderful people!

Hi Angela, You will find over the years there will be many thing to celebrate with your child/children, but I have to say, for me, this has been the crowning glory so far. Treasure each moment, each memory as they arise.

Being a mother is one of the proudest moments of my life, so I know the feeling you have.Success comes when we see our children grow into adults and become the people we knew they could from the moment we first felt them. Congratulations on your daughter’s graduation.
Hi Lisa, I feel the same. Having my miracle baby is the best event that’s ever happened to me and one of the proudest. I’m glad you know how I feel until that special moment arrives for you, it’s hard to express the pride you feel.
Thank you for the congratulations, I’ll pass them along to her.
