Sunset #BlogFlash2012

Hi there. Today is Day 7 and our prompt is Sunset. It’s one of my favourite times of the day – I love watching sunsets although in the UK, we don’t tend to get enough sun to see anything really spectacular, but I’ve seen a few on vacations that have taken my breath away. I hope you feel I’ve done it justice.

Blazing wind-swept fire streaks across the sky, the golden orb loses its’ brightness as it dips ever lower toward the horizon.

The multitude of hues within the reds, oranges, golds, pinks and lilacs take your breath away as you marvel at the gloriousness.

Your eyes feast upon it, the most magnificent banquet, mesmerised, hypnotised, you cannot turn away.

Words are denied, nothing can adequately describe the exquisiteness, invoking emotions deep inside.

Colours turn darker; shadows lengthen as the sphere is drawn inexorably to the mysterious line in the distance.

As darkness descends you mourn that sunset you’ll never see again.

  1. Can I use this piece for tomorrow’s prompt- “Relaxing” Carlie? Reading it along with the beautiful photos dialed me down 10 notches. Thanks for this. You know sunset #4 is very similar to the sunset I’ll never forget!

    • Hi Donna,

That would be cheating!! Lol. I’m glad it had such a profound effect on you though and made you so relaxed. Actually there’s a couple which are very close to sunsets I’ll never forget!

    • Hi MG,

I love sunsets too, but we don’t usually get any great ones over here, especially as we’ve barely seen the sun this year! I think we’ve only had about 4 or 5 days this year when it’s been really warm and sunny all day!

I’m glad you enjoyed it and thank you for your lovely comments.
